Aircraft Power Plant Engineer
Core Job Responsibilities:
- Manage aircraft engine fleet in all aspects and associated activities.
- Review Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives for Engines, APUs, and Nacelles.
- Oversee implementation programs for modifications to Engines, APUs, Nacelles, and accessory parts.
- Provide technical support to Line and Heavy Maintenance.
- Support Reliability studies.
- Control and oversee Engine Health Monitoring (EHM).
- Liaise with OEMs to resolve reliability and technical issues.
- Generate operator documents (MEL Technical Notices, Procedure Notices, Engineering orders, reports, etc.).
- Provide technical support for aircraft lease reception and returns.
- Scope work and review invoices for Engine shop visits.
- Manage Engine Shop visit schedules, costs, and MRO relationships.
- Represent the Powerplant department in meetings to support the company’s strategic decision-making.
- Participate in continuous improvement and transformation projects as a representative for the Powerplant department.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of Engine and APU BSI reports.
- Evaluate engines for lease or purchase based on documentation and checklists.
- Visit MRO during engine shop visits for table-top inspection after disassembly and other required times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Educational Qualifications:
Engineering Degree in a Technical Field (or 10 years of experience directly with Engines/Powerplant systems with an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer certification).
Experience Required:
At least 8 years of experience in an Airline/Powerplant Engineering department.
Competencies:
- Technical and commercial knowledge of Engine fleet maintenance, repair, and general management.
- Experience with B747 aircraft family.
- Experience with CF6 and/or PW4000 Engines.
- Familiarity with EASA Regulations.
- Flexible approach to project delivery is a high priority.
- Excellent communication skills, both in-person and electronically.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Software Programs (Word, Excel).
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a collaborative team environment and act as a role model within the department.
- Strong attention to detail in multitasking situations and the ability to deliver results under tight timelines.
- Ability to support off-hour airline operational requirements.
EASA B1/ Equivalent licensed Aircraft Engineer
Job Description
- Completion and on-time delivery of Line + Scheduled/Unscheduled Maintenance tasks on the ATC aircraft in compliance with the regulatory requirements and company policy.
- Perform inspection, repair and modification work based on current authorization and training level.
- To communicate at all times with MCC and CAMO to ensure that they are fully informed of any developments.
- Responsible for the standard of work carried out by yourself and those under your control
- Installation of spare parts, expendables and components, which shall always be accompanied by appropriate documentation to suit the eligibility requirements for the aircraft/component including the modification status and AD compliance status.
- Ensuring the completeness of all maintenance documents in the area of responsibility
- Ensuring the equipment, tools and premises in your charge are maintained to satisfactory standard and that discrepancies are reported to the appropriate departments, both within and external to the company
- Delivering highest level of health & safety and quality standards in industry
- Improve your work environment, compliance with continuous improvement standards
Educational Qualifications:
- Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering / Degree in Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience working in an AMO & Line Maintenance environment.
- Experience in aircraft maintenance, repair and troubleshooting with valid EASA Part 66 License B1 Cat.
- Hold EASA B1/ equivalent type ratings for B747-400 Freighter aircraft fitted with PW4000 series / CF6-80C2 series engines.
- Able to work effectively in a team, as well as independently, in all levels of the organization
- Demonstrate working knowledge of Part 145 & Part M legislations.
- Good knowledge of computer applications specially MS Office.
- Fluent in English (written and oral)
- Flexible and able to work night shift and weekend
- Good physical condition
- International Driving License preferable.
Years of Experience: 5+ Years
Nature of Experience:
- B1 engineers must be EASA type rated on B747-400/PW4056/CF680C2 or if non-EASA
- type training from an EASA Part 147 organization for their B747-400 type endorsement.
- Engineers must preferably have minimum 6 months practical experience on B747-400s in the previous two years.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English to a good standard for technical communications.
